New Wrestling Stars

New Wrestling Stars (NWS), based in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, was launched in January 2005 by Dr. Cesar Vargas. The first shows took place in the southwest area of Puerto Rico. NWS included some ex-IWA & WWC wrestlers on their roster including some independent wrestlers like Shane Sewell, Bison Smith, Los Adorables, Jose Chapparo, El Profe, Anarchy, Stefano, "Superstar" Ash Rubinsky (Bull Bronsky), Livewire, Los Bad Guys, Lucky 7, Bolo The Red Bulldog (Luis Negron), Erick Scorpion, Chicky Starr, Huracan Castillo, El Nene, Just Perfect, El Diamante among others.
The promotion had a segment called "NWS Report" on fellow promotion World Wrestling Council’s "Superestrellas de la Lucha Libre" until both companies WWC and NWS cancelled their agreement. Due to this the Heavyweight Champion at the time Tim Arson left the title vacant because of his contract with the WWC. So it was on August 5, 2006 where a mysterious man in mask named "Mr. GPR", won the Heavyweight Championship in a Rumble Ladder Match in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico; later the masked man was revealed to be non other than the former champion El Diamante.
NWS had a weekly TV show on Channel 22 (Liberty Cablevision) Saturdays at 11am, also on WORA-TV channel 5 in Mayaguez, PR every Sunday at 2:30pm and on Channel 52 Video Max every Saturday and Sunday at 12pm called NWS "A Puro Fuego2. NWS had its last show on September 10, 2006 and closed down soon after.
== Back From The Dead ==

NWS will relaunch on Sunday March 29, 2009 in Aguada, Puerto Rico at the All-Star Court and it was a great event with plans to hold more events and secure a TV deal.
